Meta ads ‘don’t work’ for local business owners, right? WRONG! Here are the common misconceptions of Meta ads and what you need to be doing instead to start seeing good results.

Ask most business owners about using Meta ads for their marketing and you’ll usually get one of these responses: - They’ll say it doesn’t work.

or….

- They’ll pretend like they know what they’re doing, when they're really just as clueless as those who say it doesn’t work.

Here is…

Why Meta ads don't work… for most people.

One of the biggest problems with people getting started with the software, is it is just WAYYY too confusing.

I mean… you only have to load up the first page of the ads manager dashboard to find options within options within options; it can start to feel like trying to learn quantum mechanics from a textbook written in Chinese!

Which explains why most business owners tend to just use the ‘boost’ function when it comes to using Meta advertising, and while it might look and feel like it's doing something important for the business, it’s really just as productive as stacking your marketing budget in cash, and kicking it down the Grand Canyon!

Because although boost is brilliant for getting a business’s profiles more exposure, more exposure doesn’t necessarily mean money back in your bank account. PLUS, you’re missing out on what makes Meta ads one of the most exciting marketing mediums of our time.

What makes Meta ads the best advertisement option, for 95% of businesses.

Take all other types of marketing: Print ads, television, influencer marketing etc.

None of them can be closely monitored and observed both from a spending, and a performance standpoint, which means you’re essentially throwing money at anything you can while keeping your fingers crossed.

Meta ads, on the other hand, are different.

The daily budget can be changed at any time with very little hassle, and with the facebook pixel set up on your website, you’ll be able to track where every pound you’ve spent is going.

From finding which headlines are and aren't working, to what creatives gain the most attention and which don’t, you will be given constant feedback through your ads performance on what you need to tweak and change to get the results you want.

So with that being said, let me show how to spend your ad budget in the most professional and cost-effective way:

How to get results without having to remortgage your home.

Whether you want more leads, or more sales on your online store, or maybe you just want to drive more traffic to your website to get higher up in the search results on google, you need to first understand that relevance is critical for success when using Facebook advertising.

When you start running your ads, you’ll be in the testing phase, so don’t expect to run an ad for the first time and start making huge profits right off the get-go.

Just like a scientist conducting research for his theory, you’re trying out which audiences do and do not get picked up by the algorithm.

Once it locks in however, you’re off to the races and it’s time to optimise your ad for maximum return on investment.

While it is important to note that it doesn't require a huge loan from the federal reserve bank to start testing your ad, it is going to require SOME capital.

Getting good results from ads isn’t something that you can just expect to get from investing the spare change in your pocket, which is why it makes me laugh when I see business owners get stingy about spending more than £1 a day on ads when they’re spending about 10x that on coffee every day: Mind Boggling!

So when running your ads make sure you're being sensible from both sides of the spectrum;

Don’t drain your cash away from the first week of running your ads, but don't neglect your ad budget altogether either. ⠀

When we work with clients we have a simple goal:

Get to the point where every £1 you put in advertising gets you at least £2 in return.

We do this by testing and tweaking consistently until we reach that goal.
