Why Nobody Likes Your Website.

The average person takes about 8 seconds to judge a website before bouncing.
Which tells you 2 pretty important things:
People are not as patient as you think they are.
Your landing page better be on top of its game to keep them on it.
Doesn’t matter how good, or how enticing the offer is on your ads; if they click through to your landing page and find a website from the 2000s, guess what the first thing that comes to their mind is?
‘This a scam’
Or
‘This isn’t for me’
Or
‘Oh my god, this website is hilariously bad’
And then…….
Click off.
So, in order to avoid that, let me show you a couple of things you can do to make your website the ‘high conversion masterpiece’ that every business owner has wet dreams about.
Copy Is King, Design Is Its Slave.
Yes, if your website looks like a historical artifact to showcase early web design, it won’t matter how good your copy is.
But besides that, your number one priority ALWAYS when designing your site should be the quality of your writing.
Which means, you can’t be making silly spelling mistakes on your page. You can’t be making any grammatical mistakes.
And… Most importantly; you can’t be boring.
Seriously, people get so excited by all the fancy design features that they lose track of what actually makes a good website… well, good.
So make sure that the copy flows from the next point to the next point to the next.
Make whatever you’re saying SO good, and SO enticing that it would take a fire right next to them to pull away their attention.
Which also includes…
Luring them in with a juicy headline.
Your headline is possibly the most important thing on your site.
Remember I told you that the average person spends 8 seconds judging if a website is for them?
Well, that’s only if your headline is half-decent.
If you have some run-of-the-mill headline, however, it’s usually about half a second.
That means that the first big line of text at the top of your site better give the user a damn good reason to keep them on your site.
Heck, if you skimped out on everything else and had just a decent headline, you’d still be in a much better spot than having a flash site with no substance.
So make sure it’s a rock-solid introduction to your page, and if you want some advice on how to make the perfect headline, check out this article here.
Humanise the selling process.
Have you ever tried to use one of those AI chatbot things on a website?
MY GOD, they’re annoying.
You have to spend forevvvvveeeeerrrrrr trying to get the AI to answer the right question, only for it to spit out something that you could find within 15 seconds on the website.
Absolutely useless, but here’s the thing: everybody and their dog has these things.
Wouldn't it be a breath of fresh air for the service team to be run by actual humans?
In fact, wouldn’t it be great to feel like the website was actually run by human beings?
All the sites these days just have this cold, corporate feel to them that doesn’t actually feel
like a person is behind all of that code.
But your site doesn’t have to be that way. More importantly, it's so easy to fix this.
Humanising your sales process can be as simple as just adding a VSL (Video Sales Letter) on your site.
People like to buy from humans. So why record a video of yourself talking to the camera about why people should use your product or your services?
It’ll take a few tries to get right, but the reward you’ll get from it will bear fruit for years to come, and you’ll always thank yourself for doing it.
Take it easy,
Daniel
